Details of Severe Tropical Cyclone Errol 29U at 2:00 pm AWST:
Intensity: category 3, sustained winds near the centre of 150 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 205 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 30 kilometres of 14.1 degrees South, 119.2 degrees East , 540 kilometres northwest of Broome and 590 kilometres west northwest of Kuri Bay .
Movement: west southwest at 10 kilometres per hour .
Severe Tropical Cyclone Errol has continued to intensify during the day. It is a severe category 3 tropical cyclone.
Errol is currently moving west, but is expected to turn to the southeast tonight, and begin moving towards the west Kimberley coast during Thursday.
Errol may intensify to a category 4 cyclone tonight, before beginning to weaken from Thursday afternoon. It is expected to weaken to a category 1 cyclone or even below tropical cyclone strength as it nears the west Kimberley coast on Saturday. Despite the weakening, gales may develop along exposed parts of the coast from late Friday and into Saturday morning.
