The Ryan Bowen Family Foundation was established in 2003 by Ryan Bowen to provide financial support and mentoring services, in order to strengthen youth in sports, and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle.
To apply for a grant, please follow the guidelines below and send your proposal to The Ryan Bowen Family Foundation P.O. Box 301 Burlington, Iowa 52601. Call 1-303-246-5318 with any questions.
The Ryan Bowen Family Foundation accepts grant proposals bi-annually. The deadline for grant applications is April 1st and October 1st of every year. Notification/Distribution will be June 1st and January 1st respectively. Requests for multi-year grants will not be accepted, and grant recipients must reapply each year.
All requests for financial assistance are given careful consideration by the Ryan Bowen Family Foundation Board.
Eligibility Limitations:
Monies are focused toward youth in team or individual athletics who need financial support for team sponsored events, uniforms or specialty sports camps, and underprivileged youth interested in sports activities.
Geographical Focus:
Southeast Iowa.
Application Process:
Grant prospects should provide a summary of application, an application narrative, and appropriate attachments when making grant requests. See below for specifics.
Summary of Application should include the following:
1. Legal name of organization, address, name of executive director, and contact person other than executive director.
2. Telephone number, fax number and email address.
3. Amount requested.
4. Please summarize in a short paragraph your funding request and indicate the type of request (operating, project, capital, other.)
5. List any previous support for the foundation.
Narrative: Background –Describe the work of your organization, addressing each of the following:
1. A brief description of its history and mission.
2. Current programs and accomplishments.
3. Overview of organization’s structure including the number of full- and part-time staff as well as volunteer involvement.
4. Describe your organization’s constituents including the total number and breakdown by age, gender, race/ethnicity, income levels, disabilities, and geography.
5. List of public/private funding sources for your organization during the past year.
6. Optional: brochures, newsletters.
